Joe Sweeney
Club: Prescott-Sunup
Joe Sweeney is a dedicated Rotarian with a rich history of service and leadership. Currently serving as the District Governor Nominee for Rotary District 5495, he is set to assume the role of District Governor for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.
Joe’s Rotary journey began in California, where he served as President of the Rotary Club of Santa Clara and as an Assistant Governor for District 5170. His commitment to Rotary’s mission led him to assist in the establishment of two new clubs: the LGBTQIA Rotary Club in San Jose and the Rotary Club of Silicon Andhra, catering to the Indian-American community.
In 2020, Joe and his wife, Linda—a fellow Rotarian—relocated to Prescott, Arizona. There, he took on the role of President of the Rotary Club of Prescott during its centennial year (2021–2022). His leadership extended to serving as an Assistant Governor for the Prescott and Sedona clubs and participating actively on the District’s Visioning, Membership, and Bylaws Committees.
A graduate of both the Rotary Leadership Institute and the Rotary Leadership Academy, Joe contributes as an RLI facilitator and RLA coach. His dedication to service is further exemplified by his involvement in organizing Rotary-supported blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross and his contributions to environmental sustainability projects, such as the creation of artificial reefs in collaboration with Rotary clubs in Mexico.
Professionally, Joe founded and operates a printing business, Arcadia Graphix & Signs, which he continues to manage in Arizona. He and Linda are proud parents of three grown children and are both members of the Paul Harris Society, reflecting their commitment to The Rotary Foundation.
Joe’s passion for Rotary is encapsulated in his own words:
“I am committed to working tirelessly to support and empower our clubs, advance Rotary’s initiatives, and ensure the district continues to make a positive impact in our communities and around the world. Together, we can strengthen Rotary’s legacy of service.”
