Marta Golding Brown has had a long and successful career in housing and development in California and Nevada. This is her seventh year as the Government Affairs Director for Ventura County Coastal Association of REALTORS® (VCCAR,) and during this time she was instrumental in forming the REALTOR Coastal Issues Group and Smart Coast California a 501(c)(6), supporting property rights in coastal communities. She’s earned NAR’s Realtor Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation, which exemplifies goal-oriented association executives with drive, experience, and commitment to professional growth. She was one of only 510 association executives nationwide and just 38 in California who held the designation when she received it.

Prior to VCCAR, Brown was a government affairs director for the L.A./Ventura Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, primarily focused on unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. She has 16 years’ experience with the cities of Lancaster, North Las Vegas, and Clark County, Nevada in redevelopment and planning, a liaison in housing and development programs, and directing the Major Projects Team – large master-planned communities. Marta was a partner in the firm Brown & Carlton Consulting, that along with other projects provided government affairs advocacy for the Greater Antelope Valley Association of REALTORS®.

 Marta has a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences from John F. Kennedy University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from CSU Long Beach. She has been an active member of Rotary for 17 years.
