Gilda Moshir

Club: San Marino

Gilda is a Life Insurance Broker, who represents over 50 major insurance carriers.  Prior to life insurance, she ran a nursery school with a 70-year history in Pasadena.  Gilda has 16 years in the field of Early Childhood Education, educating families on effective parenting.  She has a degree in Social Ecology and Political Science from UC Irvine, and an Associate’s Degree from Pasadena City College in Education.  Being born in Iran, Gilda is a proud Persian-American and started a language program in 2022 serving families and children ages 4 and up in preserving the language & culture of Iran. 

Gilda was inducted into San Marino Rotary in 2012 and hit the ground running.  She served the club as its Membership Chair, Community Grants Chair, RYLA Chair and as a member of the club board, ultimately becoming club president in 2016-2017.  Gilda went on to serve as a member of the San Marino Charities Board and formed a committee that fostered off-site meeting for Rotarians and their guests to develop closer connections in the community. Gilda served as San Marino’s Membership Chair for 10 years. 

At the District level, Gilda Served as Membership Chair from 2019 to 2021.  She served as Assistant Governor for Area 1 in 2021-2022.  She was selected in 2021 to be the District Governor Nominee and served her Nominee year as District Membership Chair in 2023-2024.  Under her leadership and immediate past District Governor, Mike Soden, they were able to add three new clubs to the District:  Aerospace Valley, Vegas Verde and Henderson After Hours club.  As the District Governor Elect, she is responsible to work with the incoming Presidents in 2025-2026 and to facilitate their training for the coming year. 

Gilda is married to Mehrdad, who is an Astrophysicist, they have 2 boys, Darius 29 and Kian 26.  They raised their family in San Marino and now live in Pasadena near Caltech.  Darius is a singer/actor and Kian is an analyst at Ernst Young. 

Gilda is committed to serving people through Rotary, her profession, and the community programs she belongs to.  Gilda is a connector and enjoys bringing people together who can benefit from each other’s skills and talents to benefit our community whether it be through business or service.
