Rotaract Program

Welcome to Southwest PETS (SWPETS)! SWPETS is excited to include breakout sessions for Rotaractors from our eight Districts. This event will provide a unique opportunity for Rotaractors to network with each other and Rotarians from across the Southwest Region of Rotary International Zone 26, as well as with Rotary International Senior Leaders and Staff!
Following are the five breakout sessions planned for you; additionally, Rotaractors have been invited to attend their District’s training room for one-hour.

Breakout Sessions:

Location: 16th Floor Lounge

9 :00—9:45 AM – Career building – this panel of Rotaractors and Rotarians
representing the non-profit and for-profit environments will share thoughts on building your own business, ways to advance in your career and how to leverage Rotary. This session will help you find your professional, personal and Rotary balance.

9:45—10:00 AM – Break

10:00—10:45 AM – Membership and Governance – recruiting and retention ideas,
understanding by-laws, insurance coverage, running a meeting, tax requires and of course for the University Clubs, the various school requirements.

10:45—11:00 AM – Break

11:00—11:45 AM – Leveling Up Leadership – Rotaractors are more than Social Media Experts and Muscles! How do we widen the Rotaractor scope within a District and not to be pigeonholed? How do we make the ask for the next step within the District and be taken seriously?

11:45—1:30 PM – Lunch

2:00—3:00 PM – District time

3:00—3:15 PM – Break

3:15—4:00 PM – Rotary Leadership Q&A – a lively session with Rotary leadership and staff, who will share their RI Job Descriptions, time commitment and advice to us on leadership, careers, volunteering, etc.

4:00—4:15 PM – Break

4:15—5:00 PM – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – how Rotaractors can partner Rotary in creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive mindset in membership, working with the community and club projects.
